Creative Facilitator Training
Become a JSP Facilitator!
JSP’s Creative Facilitator Training is a two-year intensive fellowship designed for those looking to bring the Jewish Studio Process deeply into their lives and professional practice.
JSP Facilitators emerge with a new lens and practice through which to view creativity, text study, the role of the facilitator and Jewish tradition itself.
JSP’s Creative Facilitator Training offers participants:
A vision and tangible plan for bringing the Jewish Studio Process to their communities
A deepened self-awareness and an enlivened creative practice
New access points into Jewish wisdom and community
Skill and confidence as a facilitator leading creative approaches to Jewish learning
Expertise, deep understanding, and embodied wisdom of the Jewish Studio Process
Highlights of the program include connection to a dynamic and supportive learning cohort, 1:1 mentorship with JSP faculty, and membership in the JSP Facilitator Network (JSPFN).
“I feel like I’ve been able to get a direct phone number to a source of wisdom that I knew was there, but wasn’t quite sure how to reach before. This Process has been such a gift for me. I want to share this experience with others.”
Laura Janowitch, JSP Facilitator

Creative Facilitator Training FAQs
-
The Creative Facilitator Training is designed to immerse Fellows in the Jewish Studio Process through personal experience and learning in a cohort. CFT is divided into two phases- the first is focused on developing a deep personal relationship with the Jewish Studio Process, the second is focused on facilitation skills.
What fellows will get out of the training:
Deepened self-awareness
Enlivened creative practice
New access points into Jewish wisdom and community
Proficiency leading a liberatory, feminist approach to Jewish learning and practice
Skill and confidence as a facilitator
Vision and tangible plan for bringing this work to their communities
Connection to a dynamic and supportive learning cohort
1:1 mentorship with JSP faculty
Membership in the JSP Facilitator Network (JSPFN)
Learning Format:
Webinars: Twice a month the cohort will meet virtually for a 2.5 hour webinar, which Fellows are expected to attend in real time. Webinars will include a combination of community building, text study, and exploration of particular themes through discussion and/or doing the Jewish Studio Process.
Havruta (paired learning): Between each webinar, Fellows will meet with a learning partner on their own time. This is an opportunity to learn 1:1 with another person in the cohort and work through assignments together.
In-Person Retreats: There will be three in-person retreats as a chance to immerse in the cohort experience and do the Jewish Studio Process together in person over a longer period of time.
Practicum Projects: During the second year of CFT, Fellows will design and facilitate at least three Jewish Studio Process sessions. The Practicum is a hands-on opportunity during CFT to gain experience facilitating the Jewish Studio Process in community.
Office Hours: There will be monthly office hours with faculty members throughout the fellowship. Though optional, office hours are highly encouraged as another point of learning through asking questions, bringing insights, and building relationships.
